#17 Cotton Candy Powder Puff

So since last time I've been very busy with college, whoever knew it could be so tiring?! Luckily Fridays are my day off so after a 3 hour driving lesson I met up with my naughty boyfriend who was pulling a sickky! However, I didnt mind as he treated me to lunch in the sunshine, and then proceeded to drag me around Blockbusters looking for Xbox games for what seemed like a life time and after he came out empty handed and was then looking to go to the next shop I knew that I'd have more fun in Superdrug looking at all the pretty things! Of course I wasn't going to come out empty handed and after seeing raving reviews about them I decided to buy a couple of Collection 2000s Cream Puffs, which seemed like a bargain for only £2.99 each!

left to right Cotton Candy and Powder Puff

The colours look great I'm really liking pinks and nudes at the moment. However, the discription of the Cream Puffs was that they are a 'Moisturising Lip Cream' well sadly I don't feel that they are very moisturising at all, if anything once they have dried your lip drys out too. This certainly isn't what it says on the tin - so to say.

Powder Puff
This product was also another dissapointment. I can't get over how horrible and nasty it applied to my lips. I know that it was a nude colour but I wasn't expecting the pigment to be this weak after several coats to my lips. It really reminds me of when girls put foundation or concealer over there lips to get a 'natural' look but it just ends up looking all cracked and obvious. Its such a shame as it looked lush when I was buying it.

Cotton Candy
Finally this one didn't let me down! It applied nice and evenly, so I' not sure if the other one was just a one off. The colour is also great for suiting light and darker tonnes of skin, and I'll definatly be wearing it whilst I'm out with the girls tonight. Please let me know if you've had similar issues with the Cream Puffs and I'm still undecided whether they were a great buy or not. I'm definitley not happy with the Powder Puff but swaying alot more towards the Cotton Candy, oh the dilemas of being a girl! Have a great friday night! :-)

#15 That Winter Feeling

I've been a terrible bloggger this week, and I'm sorry! It's been my first week at college and honestly  it's been amazing! I'm loving the course subjects compared to my AS levels. I'm doing things such as Police Powers, Disciplin and Leadership, Govenment Policies, Fitness and Water Based Activities which means every week I get to go sailing, kanoeing or kayaking.. like I said AMAZING to be doing this as my education. I also got offered the chance to work at the 2012 Olympics as a Security Officer as the organisers contacted the college as they want to employ students who are doing the Extended Level 3 Diploma in Uniformed Public Services to give them experience. I've applied and my college have only been allocated 30 places so fingers crossed I get a place so that I can go on to do the first set of training! I've also been working my butt off at work in the evenings getting ready for the sale which was this weekend, and it was manic, but I picked up some amazing bargains as staff are allowed first pick of the sale items! Hehe.

This week has really seen the changes in season, all we need now is minus temperatures and snow and then we would be complete and set for winter. However, I have to say winter is one of my favourite times of the year, I just love wrapping up warm and snuggles with the boyfriend whilst watching copious amounts of X-Factor! The only downside to winter and is my biggest hate about the whole season is chapped, dry, flakey lips! It's so frustrating and really unattractive, but finally I think I may have found a cure!

Back in the summer I popped into Lush and found their range of Lip Exfoliators, fantastic I thought lets give it ago considering those winter months. However I didn't really take into consideration that it was summer and went pretty much unused so I flung it to the back of my draws and after having a quick clear out I have fallen in love with it all again!
The exfoliator is just simply sugar! Which is a great idea as it means you can lick your lips after and it tastes so good but I'd advise you to choose wisely on the flavour as when I brought this I has such a sweet tooth and it smelt amazing, which is stil does it's just too sweet for me now. I take a small amount onto my finger and gently rub in a cirularmotion onto my lips and find that it gives instant results. So yes finally I have found my cure for those horrible dry winter lips. Lush's Sugar Lip Scrub and tonnes of lip balm to them soft and juicy! Hope you all had a good week!

As today was my first day at college I've been darting off here there and everywhere getting to grips with college life which is very different to AS at sixthform. So none the less I am KNACKERED this was my first real day back since being out of education in May. However Ive had such a smiley day today for no particular reason other than I love the life I have, my friends, family and gorgeous boyfriend are mainly the reason behind it all. So today I'm just going to leave you with a few lovely pictures which make me happy and smile as I'm off to have a nap before my dad comes to get me as he's treating me to dinner and booking my driving test! eeekk! But I need help deciding between the fish and chip shop or chinese.. help guys!

# 13 A little life update and SALE ALERT!

Morning all, hope everyone having a lovely Sunday, the weathers not to great so again I'm having a lovely lazy Sunday with my boyfriend as he plays xbox and attempts to get me excited about it... Do any of you girls also have this problem?!

Sorry for the lack of blogging recently I've been really busy this week with work and having a few days at college such as a fitness test (ouch) and a team building day at Longridge in Marlow if any of you are from around little old Berkshire and are familiar with the place. The team building was to get everyone on my course to get to know each other before starting college tomorrow. The day consisted of raft building and sailing our rafts up and down the Thames which was great fun and surprisingly we didn't sink! yay! Next we did team exercises and assault courses, and finally we did the High Course which was things such as Jacobs Ladder, which looks like this...

We went up in teams of 4 and had to help each other to the top as the bars get wider and wider apart and all you have to help yourself climb up is each other and the rope on your harness. I only made it to the fifth or sixth bar as once I realised I was higher than the trees I wanted to get down, which to me I feel is an achievement considering my extreme fear of heights, as usually I would simply refuse. All in all it was a great day apart from breaking 4 nails...4 FLIPPING NAILS! Now they need lots of TLC and looking after.

Also, for those of you who don't know I work at NEXT, and have a little inside information.. There's a mid-season sale next weekend! If you're a NEXT fan you'l know that their sales are great with as much as 75% off and great things go into the sale. I'm putting in a few extra hours at work to prepare for the sale so I'll know whats going in and I'll blog you whats available for those of you who are interested!

So enjoy your lazy Sunday and have a good week!

#12 Another Parcel In The Post!!

Afternoon lovelys, hope everone is having a good day. I've just been sat at home for the past few days waiting until I go to college so excited especially as my best friend has dropped out of A-Levels to and is doing the same course as me, yippee! So, so far the best bit of excitement I've had is the postman knocking on the door, with yet another Ebay purchase, I really must stop. However I couldn't help myself when I stumbled across these beauties for as little as 99p! So here they are...

I love this cute Tinkerbell diamonte necklace, and love the fact that it is on a long chain, as at the moment I'm not really a fan of short necklaces, so this was just perfect, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that it was only 99p! Here is the link to ebay page where you can purchase this cute little Tinkerbell necklace.

And here was the other necklace that I just had to buy as recently I'm starting to become obsessed with Paris as me and my boyfriend are looking to go there for a long weekend next year. The only downside to this necklace is with the way that they have made it. Unfortunately they added a few bits of long chain which sort of hides the Eiffel Tower which is a bit of a shame, but its still not bad for £1.29! Here is also the Ebay link to this necklace. So all in all I am very pleased with them especially as they were delivered so quickly coming all the way from Hong Kong, I think it took 10 days. For all you girlie girls who love a good bargain check out the necklaces and the seller. Have a good evening!

#11 Woman's Hour- The Perfect Brownies

Hope everyone had a great weekend, despite the wind and Hurricane warnings over in little old England. This weekend I baked some lush Brownies just for the sheer hell of it. I love to bake and would love to have my own little bakery or little tea shop down on the coast when I'm old! I'm always baking Brownies and using different recipies as I haven't yet found the one yet! But when I saw a recipie in my portfolio that I've collected for 'The perfect Brownies' I had to give it ago and I wasn't dissapointed, I was only dissapointed that my whole family decided to come round and demolish the lot, but hey I guess that means they were great! They are really moist, and really chocolatey, usually I find that the crisp round the edges and sink in the middle but like the recipie said they were perfect and didn't take long to knock up and pop into the oven. So here it is.. The Perfect Brownies...

Ingredients
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 225g dark chocolate, ideally 70% or more
  • 3 eggs
  • 125g light muscovado sugar - for the rich fudge flavour
  • 50g flour - recipie suggests fine rice flour but I used plain flour
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 100g pecans - opitional, I didn't use them due to my nut allergy
Recipie
  1. Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Line the base and sides of the tin you wish to use with foil or baking paper.  - I learnt from my mistakes to always line the tin with Brownies!
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter slowly in a bowl set over simmering water. Once melted, take off the heat and leave to cool for a few minutes. Beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla extract together in a seperate bowl.
  3. Fold the flour into the eggs and sugar mixture and then stir in the pecans. Add the melted chocolate and butter mixture and gently fold it all together. Pour into the tin and add the remaining Pecans over the top.
  4. Bake for 15-17 minutes, until risen at the edges but still squidgy in the middle. Don't worry if it seems undercooked, as it will continue cooking after being taken out from the oven. Don't be tempted to over cook as they will become dry.

Sorry about the lack of Brownies, my family got to them before my camera had finished charging!
This is the recipie I used which I found and tore out of bbcgoodfood magazine, the link for their website is here. However it was taken from Chococo Chocolate Cookbook £16.99
Hope you all have a great week!

#10 When God Was A Rabbit...

Happy Saturdays guys! Hope Everyone is well. For those of you that don't know... I am a massive bookworm! My bedroom is exploding with all the latest girly novels. I got into reading when I was very young and became very advanced for my age, and since being encouraged to read since I was 5, I havent stopped! I always carry my latest read with me in my handbag as I never know when I might get held up and have a chance to read, especially on the trains or waiting for a train, so for those of you who commute and are sick of travelling pick up a book!

Now onto the book! I like to read the reviews in my magazines such as Cosmo and Glamour, as I can always guarantee I'll find something I like, this book is also Richard and Judys best read of 2011 - I think, please correct me if I'm wrong. The book is about a girl named Elly and tells her life story from the moment she is born in 1968. You learn about her relationships with her family and the people she meets along the way like her bestfriend Jenny Penny. However the relationship illustrated best is that between Elly and her elder Brother Joe. You can see the bond form tightly right from a young age, and see it progress all throughout their early twenties, and even when they are living on the otherside of the world from eachother. I don't want to say to much and spoil it for those who might be interested, but it is such an unusual book and kept me hooked, but if you are reading it and finding it hard to get into I really reccommend that you keep at it as the best is still to come as it pulls on the heartstrings when it includes scenes from the 9/11 with her brother. I think I'm starting to say too much so I'll just leave you with the blurb as a final word.

'This book is about a Brother and Sister. It's a book about childhood and growing up, friendships and families, triumph and tragedy and everything in between. More than anything, it's a book about love in all forms'

#9 Kate Moss Lippy!

Okay, so the other day I was thrilled when I found out that my local Boots were stocking Kates Moss's Lipsticks by Rimmel London (£5.99). She has brought a fantastic range of colours out ranging from nudes to red and she's even included a deep purple for those wild nights out. I only brought one colour and that was in 08, which is a pinky-nude.

The packaging is just plain black with Kate's signature across the lid in red - classic Kate really, simple but sexy!

I cannot wait to get my hands on her other colours, but sadly I'm going to have to wait till payday!

I was so pleased with how long it lasted as I did my makeup quite a while before I went to work and it lasted until after I'd finished which I'd say is a good 6-7 hours, which to me isn't that bad really considering with some lipsticks all you have to do it lick your lips or have a drink and it comes off. It also didnt dry my lips out which is another thing I find with some lipsticks as they make my lips feel like sandpaper! I'd definitely recommend these, or even if you're just curious go into Boots and have a play about with the colours!
Have a good friday!

#8 Purple Pulse

Just a quick post whilst I'm getting ready for work, doing a bit of housework and cooking my lunch - jacket potato, I love them at this time of year.

I popped into Boots yesterday and they had an offer of 3 for 2 on selected lines of every cosmetic brand. So yes I did pick up a new cheeky Kate Moss Lippy which I will get round to reviewing, but I also picked up this Nail Varnish which to me looks like its caught in the middle of summer and autum. Its a Rimmel Lasting Finish 180 Purple Pulse for £2.99.. what do you think?

Again this colour needs two coats just like most polishes, but it has a really shiny sleek finish. Once again Rimmel has done me proud as all their Polishes I buy have always come out really well and I've never had a problem with them. Hope you have a great rest of the day!

#7 Parcels In The Post

My current worst habbit at the moment is...Ebay! I've been so bad and ordered so much stuff it's ridiculous, I'm even starting to feel sorry for the postman having to deliver so much..
My recent bargains on Ebay has been Jewellery at the moment. I found a really cute vintage charm bracelet, and it was only £2.99 but of course you can't expect the product to be amazing for such a cheap price but I was pleasantly surprised.

This is what it looks like on. It has three main charms of an airplane, phone and teddy, followed by some coloured stones.

For £2.99 I dont think that It's a bad bracelet and would make a cute Christmas or Birthday present for someone if you're trying to save money. Here is the link that will take you straight to the bracelet on Ebay, but check out their other stock they have some great pieces of jewellery for as cheap as 99p!

#6 A Monday Splurge In New Look And Superdrug

What a hectic Monday!

I had a little spend this afternoon after work which put a little smile on my face, I didn't buy anything extravagent just a few little pieces of makeup and some accessories. So heres what I brought

There were the bits and bobs I got today, from New Look and Superdrug
I love shopping in Superdrug mainly because the brands are alot cheaper but can still be just as good as the top end brands such as mac. The Tea Tree face wipes are Superdrugs own, but are good for people have sensitive skin such as myself, and I couldn't resist when I saw that they were two packs for £3.99, and I find face wipes to be the most handiest when you've had a late night out and can't be bothered to cleanse and tone!
Superdrug were also doing a deal on the Barry M which was buy two polishes and get  £1 off, which isnt masses but every little helps! I brought the instant effects (£3.99) which I know I may be behind on trying but it has only really caught my attention till now, and then I went for Barry M Mushroom (£2.99) which I can't wait to try as I'm loving the Nudes at the moment. Finally I purchased a Collection 2000 Lasting  Colour in Bubblegum (2.99), as it was a nice bright cheary pink and I want to see just how long it really lasts, so swatches and a review will soon follow!
Last stop, New Look where I felt the need to get some accessories! The pack of 3 earings were £4.99 and the alice band was £2.99
Out of the set of earings these dangly vintage heart ones are my favourite, and as I have short hair it shows them off perfectly and really compliments well with my blondeness! I can tell I'm not going to stop wearing them!

And I have just fallen in love with this head band purely for the pattern I'm a huge love of florals! Hope everyones had a good Monday!

#5 Rainy Sundays

Afternoon you lovely people,

Sorry for the lack of posts my laptop charger has broken! However, I have brought another one of ebay and cannot wait until it arrives, so for today I'm borrowing my boyfriends laptop whilst he spends this rainy day playing xbox...yawn!

Within the last couple of days I've been working. I work at my local NEXT and i love it! I get to see all the new clothes coming out and all the new winter fashions, I cannot wait, the only downside is that I spend all my wages there so since being paid I don't have that much money left, which make me sad! Yesterday though I had to go in and buy my new winter uniform, I'll post my new clothes when my laptops back up and running.

I also went to my Godsons third birthday yesterday after work, he is soo cute and was thrilled with his present, but like any party it isn't a party unless there is cake, for those of you who have seen Cars the Disney movie he had a giant pickup truck from the film and again I'll post the picture soon.

So whats everyone been up to this weekend? And I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

# 4 To Pandora Or To Not Pandora?!

Afternoon guys, what I really want to know is everyone opinions on the Pandora bracelets. When the big craze started in 2010, I was not one to follow. I thought that they were over priced - I mean £30 is the cheapest and it can go up to hundreds for a single bead! and if I'm I'm honest I'm too indecisive as to choose which one I would have on my bracelet and what colours I would want.

But to cut a long story short my boyfriend brought me a cream roped pandora bracelet, and it now has a single elephant charm which is another long story of when we were away on holiday together in Turkey

Even thought my elephant is very lonely on my bracelet I absoloutly love it and now where it every day

So thats my beautiful Nelly, and I can officially say that I am a bit of a Pandora fan now, but I don't know if I want to pay those prices...it may have to wait till christmas!
So the question is.. Are you a Pandora fan or not? If you are tell me about your bracelet!
