Beauty | Nicki Minaj Pink Friday Perfume

I am, and probably always will be a Nicki Minaj lover, I love her music, her style and her ability to be unique and not let anyone put her down or their opinions influence the person she is. I guess I love her so much because I want to be like that, to have the confidence 100% of the time to not be afraid to be who I am.

Around this time last year Nicki released her Perfume, Pink Friday, named after her debut album and as soon as I saw and heard about it I knew I had to give it a whiff! When I saw the bottle I couldn't help but smile to myself, it is very true to Nicki. A unique bottle of her where you have to pull off her head in order to squirt the perfume. Now a lot of celebrity perfumes can be rather quite sweet and there are only a select few which I really like, and I expected this to have that really sickly smell to it, due to Nicki's very loud and over the top appearance which she is renowned for. However, I was pleasantly surprised and fell in love with it straight away. It's the perfect scent for Spring/Summer which is why in the colder months I've tended to not wear it. Within the fragrance there are top notes of Starfruit, Italian Mandarin, Boysenberry, Fresh Gardenia,  Lotus Flower, Jasmine Petals, Creamy Vanilla, Caramelised Pear, Skin Musk and Sheer Woods. As you can see it has rather a fruity and floral scent to it which isn't heavy and over-powering by any means, it's actually rather light which is why I prefer to wear it in the spring and summer months.

I know perfume reviews can be hard to write as each fragrance smells different to each individual but I just wanted to share with you one of my most favourite perfumes as I like these kinds of posts and will always check out perfumes in Boots or Superdrug through blogger recommendations when I'm a bit stuck as to what to buy!

Have you tried Pink Friday by Nicki? What did you think?!

Beauty | The Fragrance Shop Discovery Club 5th Edition*.

I would be lying if I said I didn't love perfume. I think I'm the most perfume addicted person out there, and I just can't help but buy more and more! So when I was sent The Fragrance Shop's Discovery Box* it was like a dream come true, plus I had already read lots of reviews on this subscription and was toying with the idea of signing up.

Like Glossy Box and Love Me Beauty Boxes you can sign up to the Discovery Club which is ran by The Fragrance Shop. Every quarter of a year you can pay £5.00 to have your box of perfume samples sent straight you your door for you to try. In this edition, the 5th edition there are 9 perfume samples, usually there are 5 so it's a complete bargain. Each box also comes with a Discovery Club booklet which tells you about each perfume you've received and also includes lots of vouchers worth up to £45.00 to spend in The Fragrance Shop. So this is what you can expect to see in a box.
The box contains popular samples for you to try, and I've enjoyed every bit of sampling new perfumes and deciding on my favourites. I have a feeling that this could be bad for my perfume addiction!

I also love how they have included fragrances for men in the box which I'm sure my boyfriend will find a loving home for, especially as the Hugo Boss Boss Bottled is already one of his favourites on his shelf and he always smells so divine when he wears it. Surely I can't be the only girl who goes weak at the knees over a good smelling bloke?! Hugo Boss Hugo Man is also another great smell for guys and both of these have top notes of apple, along with other fruits and spices. Finally in the men's range is Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme. Now Issey Miyake has always been a brand which I've associated with older men, but with it's distinct woody smell with top notes of yuzu - a Japanese citron, it too, also smells incredible.

Now for the ladies, this edition we have 6 popular favourites, and some which I am already familiar with. I'm no stranger when it comes to Givency's Very Irresistible, something which I've had before and adore it's floral combination of roses and peonies. It's a very unmistakable feminine smell. There are also two by Thierry Mugler, Alien and Angel which I know are two favourites within the blogging world. I can already see Alien becoming a top favourite of mine! Like Givency's Very Irresistible, Guilty by Gucci is another one of my favourites due to it's similarities, although Gucci's Guilty uses oriental florals. Finishing with the florals is Jean Paul Gaultier Classsique which also includes hints of ginger entwined with the florals. Finally for the ladies, is Nina Ricci Nina, a fruity favourite for most.

As you can tell there is quite a range in this box and something there for everyone, even if there's one which may not quite be your favourite I'm sure you'll be able to find someone else who loves it. Personally, I just think this box is a great way for people to try out new fragrances and the samples are even handy just to stick in your handbag to freshen up. Along with the vouchers this box really is worth it's value for money and I can't wait to see what is in the next quarterly instalment!

Is the Discovery Club something you'd be interested in?

The Birthday Post: What I Got For My Birthday.

Good afternoon lovelies! After a lovely birthday weekend I have come back down to earth! My birthday weekend has been one incredible weekend and I'm so thankful to all my family, friends and wonderful boyfriend who well and truly spoilt me. On Friday 10th January, I turned 20 years old which was kinda scary, there's no going back to being a teenager any more and responsibilities and adulthood seem to come hurling at me!

On the Friday my Mum and I went to Bicester Village which is a designer outlet and all the items in the shops are a lot cheaper than what they cost in the regular shops. Mum and I shopped and ate until our bodies hurt! In the evening my boyfriend, Tyler, took me to my favourite Chinese where we had a lovely meal and spent the rest of the evening together. Saturday was Tyler's Mums birthday and his family and I went to our local Cosmos restaurant. If you haven't been to a Cosmos near you, you NEED to! It's an all you can buffet with nearly 300 dishes including dessert! And it's all different types of cuisine from Chinese to your typical English Roast Dinner and Thai, it's incredible! Finally, on the Sunday, I had a large family meal at Prezzos followed by an open house for tea, wine and birthday cake in the evening! It literally was such an incredible weekend and I was also spoilt and showered in gifts!
Firstly, perfume, bath and body and girly bits! Everyone knows how much I love bath smellies so I wasn't short of any this birthday followed by my favourite perfume at the moment, the Lady Gaga Fame perfume which smells divine! Candles and nail polish are also a big hit with me. I'm basically just a lover of anything girly!
Miscellaneous presents included my favourite TV show cook book from The Great British Bake Off, I can't wait for the new series to start again in the summer after watching the Sport Relief episodes! Katie Piper is also one of my idols and I'm beginning to learn so much from her, especially when it comes to positivity.
My Mum chose well when she picked the gold chunky chain for me from Accessorize! I've never been one for watches, partially because I feel that they just don't suit my small wrists, however, I just fell in love with this one and my Granny brought it for me.
Clothes are always essential at any birthday or Christmas!
The remainder of the Alcohol left! I can't wait to try the cocktails! When I'm out I'm not really adventurous with trying new cocktails as I feel as though if I don't like it I've wasted that money - I can be quite tight, haha!
Whilst shopping I treated myself to a gorgeous Ted Baker purse and Vivienne Westwood bracelet which I couldn't resist, I think we all need a little bit of something special in our lives!

Other presents which I didn't photograph were things like money and vouchers. There were also presents which I couldn't photograph such as Tyler surprised me with a trip to London to go one the London Eye, followed by the London Zoo and lastly a stop off at the Ice Bar, all things which I've talked about in the past and said I wanted to do, and it shall all be taking place this coming Saturday, I'm so excited, it feels like it'll be my birthday all over again! And finally, my Dad and Step Mum have paid to put Tyler and I up in the Marriot Hotel by Gatwick airport the night before we fly to Corfu as our flight is at 6 o'clock in the morning we were worrying about what to do and the costs of it all. Teamed up with my Mum there's also dinner and breakfast too! Which is hugely generous of them all. In fact all my friends and family have been so generous, I actually can't believe how lucky I am to be surrounded by such lovely people in my life and hopefully I'll have many more birthdays to celebrate with them all!

RiRi and Nicki Ft. Superdrugs 3 for 2

I think I am the worst impulse buyer ever!! Today I was in a really crappy mood, so I did what I always do and headed down to Superdrug as in the morning I received an email telling me about their 3 for 2 offer across all brands, so why not, I needed the cheering up and I love what I got!
Firstly is lips. My Superdrug are finally stocking the Sleek Lipstick Palettes! I found it so hard as to which one to buy first, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to go back and buy the other 3 in the 3 for 2 offer! At the moment I'm seriously loving my bright pinks so I opted for Showgirl, and I cannot wait to have a play around with this palette. These are retailing at £8.99 which I don't think is unreasonable for a lipstick quad.
Next is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipsticks I've seen so many posts and have been totally undecided on which colour to buy so today I took the plunge and carried on the pink theme with 08 Rose Studio. Which again is another gorgeous coloured lipstick for £7.99
Not to long ago MUA also released their baked trio eyeshadows. Now I have some of their original trios but being the MUA fanatic that I am, I had to try the baked trios. Now I know these look very similar but I had to get both because I really couldn't decide on which one to buy. The eyeshadow on the right hand side I'm pretty sure is the same in both but on the right trio the bottom and left eyeshadow are quite a bit darker than the left trio so for £3.00 and with one of them being free I decided to get both. On the left is Legendary and on the right is Emotions.
Finally, let me introduce you to my new babies. I decided a while back that I really wanted to buy my first MAC Lipstick but I couldn't decide on which one as there are hundreds of gorgeous colours to choose from. That was until RiRi Woo was about to be launched. I love a good red lippy and although many people said it's a copy of Ruby Woo that didn't bother me because I didn't own it and they're the same price, and plus, I am such a Rihanna fan girl.
My next baby is the Nicki Minaj Pink Friday perfume. You all know that I'm a perfume addict and absolutely adore Nicki so when I smelt it I knew I had to purchase it on the introductory offer of £22.00 before it went up in price!

I've loved all that I've been buying recently and will be reviewing them all soon. What have you all been buying lately?

Dot By Marc Jacobs

With the sun trying to peak through the cracks in the clouds I am definitely getting that spring/summer feeling. I can't wait for the day where I can step outside the house without having to wear my winter coat or a pair of boots. I long for those days where I can walk out the house in just a vest top, permanently wear sunglasses and it still be warm as I'm sipping on a nice cold glass of wine outside the pub watching the sun set. Yes, yes I am still dreaming!
Summer is also a time for me where I love to wear those fresh girly scents and what better way to do that than by wearing a bit of Marc Jacobs?!
If you say to me "Marc Jacobs" it immediately reminds me of Daisy. Daisy has to be my ultimate favourite perfume which just so happens to have been stolen off of me by my Mum. When I worked at House of Fraser I would constantly be spritzing myself with it and one day when I came home my Mum complimented me on the perfume, so I knew it would be a great gift idea, one which she loved and still keeps on repurchasing. At Christmas I received a Boots voucher and rather than wasting it on make up I really don't need I thought I'd get something a bit more luxurious and treated myself to a perfume, yes I know I didn't really need another either!
All perfumes by Marc Jacobs come in bottles with incredible lids which to me is what makes the brand stand out so well. I choose Dot because it's different to Daisy, and I was after different. Dot is a very light, refreshing fragrance with a nice helping of florals. This really will be my summer scent and personally, I love it, plus it looks good on my dressing table too!
My bottle which I brought is 30ml and retails at £37.00. The perfume can also be brought in 50ml for £47.00 or 100ml for £63.00

Which is your favourite Marc Jacobs perfume?!

Miss Holly's Giveaway Prizes!

A few weeks ago I entered a giveaway on Instagram which wan run by the lovely Holly from Miss Holly and I have to give her credit for her lovely blog which I have been following ever since I started blogging. I was thrilled when Holly announced that I had won her giveaway as it was the first time I had ever won one!
Amongst all my lovely prizes were three products from Elf, which is a brand that I love, their products are great quality (well all the ones which I've tried) and are great for value. However, I'm not entirely convinced they're better than MUA, but still great! I'm excited to try the Tone Correcting Powder along with the Bronzed Look Beauty Book, because if their shadows are anything like their blushers then they'll be so pigmented. And nail varnish? You can never go wrong with nail varnish for a girl like me!
As well as the Elf products Holly also very generously added four more products, including Champneys body cream and body glow. I love my lotions and potions and these smell great. She also included a Konad double side stamp yet, which I'm not familiar with but can't wait to use. I love nail art but I'm not the greatest at it so hopefully this will get me more creative! Finally, there was a bottle of So...? Kiss Me Perfume which takes me right back to my days of being at school and it's a scent which I've never grown out of and still love.
I feel so lucky to win such a lot of lovely things, so thank you so much Holly!!
You can also follow Holly on her Instagram @misshollyxo

I hope you all have a great week! If you've tried any of the goodies which I've won then let me know what you thought about them!

Lady Gaga - Black Fluid

Now usually, when celebrity perfumes come out I'm not one to be first in line to purchase one, and quite frankly I find the majority - not all, but the majority to be really over powering, sickly and come in tacky packaging. That's just my personal opinion, others may love them. When the Lady Gaga perfume was released I though it would be another, just the same, and it wasn't until I was standing in the cue in Superdrug when my friend smelt it and shoved it in front of my nose did my opinion of celebrity perfumes start to change slightly. It was definitely not what I was expecting, and I thoroughly enjoyed the scent, even my boyfriend loves it on me. So with some Christmas money I brought a gift set which was in the sales.
True to Lady Gaga's style the perfume and Shower Gel is still weird and wacky, especially with them both being black, but don't worry, the perfume does dry clear! I love how she hasn't conformed and gone with the pink and girly look which most perfumes seem to have. Not that I'm complaining!!
The perfume has a very light musty smell to it with just that hint of floral, and it actually reminds me of something similar I just can't put my finger on what perfume it is called.

I have to say, that I actually love the black shower gel! It was really weird at first but I love how different it is, and smells exactly the same as the perfume.
30ml definitely isn't enough which means that I will be purchasing more in the future!
A 30ml perfume can be brought at Superdrug for £19.19 which is very reasonable. They also do 50ml and 100ml bottles too. You can also buy the Shower Gel for £13.99. As well as the Shower Gel there is also a Body Lotion and bar of soap in the range.

Have you tried Black Fluid yet?

Christmas 2012 - The Best Yet.

This Christmas really was the best yet. It was spent with my family and all the ones I love. Christmas day and Boxing day consisted to eating and drinking, exchanging presents, playing silly family games, watching all the Christmas TV and dozing by the fire. I wouldn't have spent my Christmas in a different way it really was the best. I was also so incredibly spoilt by my family and boyfriend and I felt it very overwhelming. They had all been so kind and generous and I cannot thank them enough.
I know lots of people like these kinds of posts, myself included as a way to be nosey and see all the fabulous gifts which everyone received. If you don't like these posts then I would suggest you do not read it or comment. This isn't me bragging about what I was given it's a way for bloggers to share what they all got.
As you can tell I've been very spoilt! There really aren't enough words to explain how I feel! I love my family so incredibly much and cannot wait to start 2013 with them!
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas!!

Next Just Pink

When I was younger I used to love watching my Mum put on her make up and spray her perfume before going out. I would constantly be asking if I could have some of her make up and perfume too. She would always play along with it pretending to give me some and it would make me so happy. As I started to get older I started to ask for my own and I will never forget when I was lucky enough to get my first perfume. From then on of around the age of 11/12 this perfume has always been a favourite of mine.

Just Pink is a very light floral scent and is described as having soft fruits and pink blossom in it too. It definitely does suit its name of Just Pink. I have still continued to love this perfume from being that little girl and each year I will receive a bottle of it or a gift set. It's the ideal gift for Christmas or Birthdays as it also comes with a very reasonable price tag.
Images were taken from www.next.co.uk
These are the gift sets which are available from the Just Pink range. It consists of everything girly from perfume to candles, to manicure and pedicure sets to make up and body lotions.
The prices start at £5.00 and go up to £16.00 making it the perfect gift for anyone! Next time you're in Next make sure you check out their fragrances as most of their perfumes retail at only £10.00 and they will always have a full stock of Just Pink as from working there I know it's their bestseller!

#54 NEXT Just Pink Desire Eau De Toilette Giveaway.

Morning bloggers!
Hope everyone is well this Saturday morning, I however am at home ill when I should be at work, being ill sucks!
Recently at work we had our mid-season sale and the beauty of working in retail and working the sale and doing sale prep is that you get first pick of everything that's about to go live into the sale, so of course I snapped up a few bargains and whilst there I brought just a little something which I thought might make a good giveaway as I haven't done one since before Christmas and recently I've reached 150 followers and haven't shown a little appreciation. So here it is...

Next do great body care which is reasonably priced, and when this little beauty went into the sale I had to have first pick! So I grabbed one for myself and one for my followers. Just Pink by Next is a favourite of mine which I'm constantly wearing, and recently they brought out Just Pink Desire for the season. Now I know it may not be to everyone's taste but I just wanted to share with you a beauty product which I LOVE. This fragrance is such a pretty smell as its a twist of fruitiness and florals, yet at the same time not over powering. I know that perfume giveaways are a bit of a risk but it's just a chance to try something new which you wouldn't normally buy yourself and if you end up winning and don't like it then I won't be offended there may be someone else you can recycle it!
In order to enter you must be a follower of Beautiful Nellies, and then you just need to leave a comment telling me what your favourite smell or scent is at the moment along with your email address in order for me to contact you. I'm not going to pick the winner at random this time, I'm going to choose my favourite answer. This giveaway will also end in a weeks time on the 7th April at midday. There are no extra entries or anything as I just want to keep it small and simple. All that's left for me to say now is GOOD LUCK!
