Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013

I really cannot believe that another year has passed already. It's so incredibly scary how time really is flying past.
I've sat and looked back at the goals which I made at the start of the year and I'm pleased to say that I have managed to achieve most of them.
1. I wanted to have a better skin care routine and if you're a regular reader you'll know that I have gone skin care crazy! I have found so many new products which I love and my routine has improved drastically and for the better but I'll always be on the hunt for ways in which I can improve it even more
2. I wanted to blog more frequently. I have been blogging at every spare moment I can get, I aim to blog at least once a week. but I feel that there is no point in sticking to some sort of schedule as I've found that living life is far more important. I love blogging and I always will, but I don't want it to become a chore, I want to carry on enjoying what I do.
3. Become more healthy with diet and exercise - It has taken me nearly a whole year to do this. I finally have my gym membership, now I need to find the motivation. I am usually a healthy eater but everyone has those naughty days now and then.
4. I wanted to smile and laugh lots. I definitely have done this! I'm not going to lie and say that there weren't any bad parts of 2012 because there were, such as losing a friend to cancer and the break up of my family, but the good parts definitely outweigh the bad! I have had the best year ever with my boyfriend, family and friends and loved every single second of it!
5. I wanted to quit smoking, and I am so pleased to say that I have also achieved this. I finally managed to stop in October, better late than never but I feel so much better for doing so. Yes I did gain a little weight when I stopped but I feel a lot healthier and I know it'll be so much better for me in the long run.
6. Save money. Hallelujah! I can't believe I'm saying this but from my part time job I manage to save away £200 a month which has enabled me to do so much more than if I didn't save, I am not the saving freak of my household!
7. To have lots of fun and happiness. I definitely did this in 2012. At the beginning of the year I turned 18 and am now approaching my 19th birthday, but I have had so much fun being 18. I have made some great memories this year along with friends. I fell in love with the most amazing guy who truly treats me like a princess. My relationship with my family, especially my Mum improved so much. I generally have been so happy this year, and I want to keep it that way for 2013!
My Goals For 2013:
- Remain happy
- Carry on to improve the relationship with my mum and family
- Get the help which I need in order to tackle the last remaining skeletons in the closet
- Pass my driving test
- Travel more around England and abroad.
- Find lots of motivation
- Carry on to improve my fitness levels
- Finish my last year of education and leave with my predicted results of a triple distinction
- Carry on enjoying blogging
- Participate in an international swap
- Take more chances
- Learn to say yes to offers more.
- Have just as much fun and happiness in 2013 as I did 2012.

What are your goals?
I wish you all a Happy New Year and have an amazing 2013!

#69 Summertime Healthiness Week 1.

Evening bloggers!
I can't get over how hot and amazing the weather has been this week! It has just been gorgeous here in the UK, especially down in the South where it reached 26 degrees celsius! For May that is pretty impressive, lets just hope it hangs around for a few months! - yeah right!
So as you all may know if you've been keeping up with Beautiful Nellies that I'm on a bit of a healthy mission, which was in this post here. The post basically explained that I wanted to loose some extra weight which I have gained since Easter - which was only a few pounds but I want to loose those again, and a little bit more!
So here goes my weigh in!
Starting Weight: 12 stone exact.
Current Weight: 11 stone 11 pounds.
Weight lost: 3 pounds.
Woohoo! That's 3 pounds gone from my tummy, hips and legs! 3 pounds may not seem like much to some people, but to me, a person who loves to eat, it's pretty damn good as a starting point! So this is my first week broken down.
  • In order to loose these 3 pounds I have been making sure I stick to my daily calorie intake of 1500 calories. I have also been making sure that what I do eat is reasonably healthy. I've cut right out the chocolate bars and McDonalds which I was eating - being at college really does make you fat! It was these two which were my main issue so I've managed to go McDonalds free this past week! However, I have had a few sneaky treats such as a small mini roll with my lunch when I'm at college and the other night I did have pudding with my boyfriend, but other than that I have been very good. When ever I've been hungry I've turned to eating two petit filous as you'd be surprised at how filling they are. I've also started having a morning snack of a Banana and as much as I hate Bananas you'll eat them if you're hungry enough - trust me!
  • I've also taken to drinking a lot more water especially just before a meal as this little tip may not be so 'healthy' but it sure does work. Sometimes the body can be dehydrated and needing water, but this crave can sometimes come out in the form of hunger. Before eating always drink around a pint of water as it can also fill you up so that you eat smaller portions. I know this may not be totally ethical but it's what works for me, especially as I eat larger portions than I should anyway. I also find it helps me to drink lots of water which is starting to do wonders for my skin!
  • Finally I've taken to doing 25 stomach crunches, 25 leg raises and 25 stomach curls a day in order to tone my tummy, and surprisingly along with the healthy eating I'm finding that it's working. However, I would like to have a better fitness plan without the use of a gym but am just so stuck for ideas. So if you have any please do share them! Also feel free to share any other tips and advice which you may have!

For any others out there who are doing an Operation Healthy, good luck and keep strong and determined!

#65 Operation Healthy

So it has gotten to that time of year again where everyone's on a diet and trying to get that perfect bikini body. Well everyone except me. However, it is true that I'm trying to diet and be healthy, but I'm doing this for myself as I'm not going away this year.
Recently I've noticed I've started to put on weight again compared to the last few months and I've been letting myself go what with eating all that chocolate at Easter! So from now on it's time to eat super healthy and get fit!
I'm not expecting miracles over night but over time I want to reach my goal to which I'll be perfectly content with! Every female feels self-concious of their bodies or the way they look even if you think that they are beautiful and have a drop dead figure. There are just a few girls who are lucky enough to be able to stand there, raise their arm and say 'Hell yes, I love my body and the way I look and feel.' Now I want to be one of those girls!
I know this is going to be a tough and gruelling process simply because I LOVE my food! But by keeping a weekly diary on my blog it will help me to let off some of my 'hunger stress' and maybe help others who are currently going through the same thing. It's also a great way to share help and advice with other followers to form a network of motivation for fitness! So here goes my first online weigh-in!
