MUA Extreme Lash Mascara

I have been obbsessed with shopping recently and especially the MUA counter at Superdrug. I think soon I'll have nearly all of their products! I recently picked up one of their Mascaras - Extreme Lash Mascara to see whether I prefer it to my trusty Bourjois Volumizer Mascara.

The packaging is really sleek and simple which I love. I'm not a fan of really bold out there colours and pictures for packaging. But I find that in general, MUA's products have a really professional feel about them.

These are my natural eyelashes without any coats of Mascara. I don't have the worst set of eyelashes ever, yet I don't feel comfortable to go out without Mascara.

The Extreme Lash Mascara instantly adds length to my eyelashes and makes them alot more visable. I'm the type of person that likes long, dark, thick lashes without having to wear false lashes. Don't get me wrong I love false lashes but I prefer to wear them in the evenings when I'm going out rather than during the day. So this is why I wear a few coats of Mascara.

The second coat of Mascara adds a lot more definition and makes them slightly thicker than the first coat, but this still isn't thick enough for me. I also found that the wand doesn't comb through my eyelashes well. So where 2 or 3 eyelashes stick together it makes me look as if I have less, and this isn't really a look which I want. I also found that this Mascara is a lot more watery than my Bourjois Mascara which doesn't make for a quick and easy make up routine in the mornings as I then have to spend time faffing about with cotton buds to remove the Mascara from my eyelid and sometimes it smudges and becomes really tricky to remove. I think for the time being I'm going to stick to my Bourjois Volumizer Mascara and will take the MUA Extreme Lash Mascara with me on nights out for touch ups as I can be very precious about my make up and would hate to loose it in a club. Unfortunately, I think this will be one MUA product which I won't be repurchasing.

Have you tried this Mascara? What do you think?

#100. This months Marie Claire featuring L'Occitane.

This month Marie Claire are giving their readers a free full sized L'Occitane Limited Edition Shea Butter Hand Cream worth £8. As well as the L'Occitane Hand Cream they are also giving away a sample of Dove's Hair Therapy Colour Radiance express treatment Conditioner.

L'Occitane is a well known brand in my household as my Mum is always buying their products and occasionally when she isn't looking I'll pinch them too. So when I saw the hand cream in Marie Claire I had to pick it up. With the magazine you get a choice out of three different scents of hand cream one being the Mango Flower which I chose. There is also Rose Petals and Date Bouquet. Neither of which I like the smell of. Sometimes fruity smells can be very overpowering and sickly. However, although the Mango Flower has a strong smell it really does smell of a real Mango fruit and not artificial.
I love the fact that there is Shea Butter in the Handcream as Shea Butter is very moisturising. This tube is perfect for putting in your handbag and carrying along with you and it is at work when I find I need Handcream the most. When I'm doing delivery at work my hands are constantly on the go and I tend to abuse them and they end up very battered and dry which will also be to do with the cold weather conditions of the warehouse. On each break I have been applying a small amount of the Handcream and it has left my hands moisturised for hours which is down to the Shea Butter! I'd also advise you to work the Handcream into your hands well as it can leave your hands slightly greasy whilst it dries in and is a pain to my iPhone screen!!
The designs of these Handcreams are an African design as this is where L'Occitane's Shea Butter is sourced from. This I feel adds a very personal and ethical touch which I love.

The limited edition Handcreams can be found HERE where they are £8 for one or £20 for 3. These also make great Christmas gifts whether they are as a set or for stocking fillers! There are also some other products in this range such as Lip Balms which I can't wait to try.

Will you be purchasing anything from this range?!

#99. The 10 day you challenge tag.

I know this post is a day late but yesterday was so hectic! Life is just so hectic! Will it just slow down?! This year has absolutely flown by and I can't decide whether I like that or not!! Today is the second post of the 10 day you challenge tag!!

My 9 Loves

1. At the top of my list definitely has to be my Mum. She is my whole world and there are so many things which I wouldn't have been able to get through without her. It has always been just me and her and she has been the only constant in my life. 11 years ago I nearly lost my Mum to Liver Disease, a condition which she was born with but at the time Doctors knew nothing about. Each day I am thankful that I have her here with me and each day I am thankful to the Lady who sadly lost her life in a car accident and had been kind and generous enough to become an Organ Donor because without that transplant 11 years ago, my Mum would not be here today and would not have seen me grow from a child to an adult. So an additional love would also have to be Organ Donors!!

2. Candles! I've been finding that I'm really stressed at the moment and when I'm like this there is nothing I love more than a really pretty candle which smells heavenly, a dim light and a good book. Maybe even throw in a hot Bubble Bath for good measures!

3.Getting my hair done. There is nothing better than saying goodbye to horrible dark roots or even going for a change in style or colour. My hairdresser is amazing and I  love it when she comes over to do my hair!

4. Make up! I guess this includes shopping too because you can't buy make up without shopping whether it be at a store or online! Each time I go into Superdrug or Boots I can't help but buy myself something!

5. Reading. I'm such a book worm and have been ever since I was a small child. I read nearly any type of book except my favourites are definitely chick lits! Theres nothing better than getting lost into a good book where theres always a hapily ever after. I'm currently reading 50 Shades Darker and loving every bit of E.L. Jame's books!

6. Recieving post! As I still live at home I don't get any bills come through the post and I've made sure I never sign up to any credit cards or store cards. So whenever I recieve anything in the Post it's always good stuff. Especially after I've done a bit of online shopping!!

7. Dinner! I do like food in general such as Crisps, Chocolate etc. But what I really love is Dinner time!! I love the smells which come out of the kitchen when Mum is cooking and I love finishing work or college and looking forward to Dinner. You can't beat a Roast, Pasta, Sausage and Mash or even a Chinese!!!

8. Winter. I am definitely a winter baby! There is just so many more things better about Winter than there are Summer. I love Autumn where the leaves change colours and it starts to get colder meaning you have to wrap up. I love chunky knits and coats, hats, gloves and scarfs! My countdown for Christmas also starts at this time of year. Everyone goes back to school and then not long after is Halloween followed by Bonfire night a week later. Then it hits the first of December and its time to open door one on the Advent Callenders. December flys by and before you know its Chritmas Day. Then 16 days after Christmas is my  Birthday but before that is New Years Eve! I find winter to be the most prettiest time of the year and everyone is always in good festive cheer!

9. And finally he gets a mention. My boyfriend, Tyler. This year has been one of the best for both of us yet at the same time it hasn't been a great year. We have done so much together this year and he never fails to put a smile on my face. In an earlier post in the year I wrote about how I committed the worst dating rule - going out with your ex's bestfriend. But I can honestyly say with my hand on my heart that I / we have no regrets. Lets hope 2013 is even better than 2012!

What are your nine loves?!

#98. The 10 day you challenge tag.

I was going to post a different post to this today but I saw this tag on Gemma-Louise's blog Fashion Is Beauty Beauty Is Fashion (which I also think you should all go check out) and decided I wanted to do this tag and actually complete it! I never finish or complete tags but this one I think it would be nice to as you can sit back and reflect on life with it, it will also let you guys know a little more about me. So each week I'll post another day of the tag. Here it goes...!

My 10 Secrets

1. I have a completely irrational fear of dying. It's even been known to give me panic attacks when talking about it in depth which is why I don't like to think or talk much on it.

2. I am such a hoarder. I won't throw anything out, as it might have the teeniest sentimental value. Every so many months my Mum will help me attack my room with black sacks and I throw away easily 4 black sacks worth of rubbish!

3. I am addicted to Relentless, I've been known to drink 4 cans a day, and thats when I'm taking it easy. I'm currently on a Relentless ban and cannot even allow myself to have one sip otherwise I know I'll be back on it everyday relying on it. I just can't help it, I love the sweet taste!!

4. When I was younger around aged 13 I was also addicted to stealing. This has to be one of my worst secrets. I am completely against stealing now and have actually fallen out with people because of it. I got in with the wrong group of people at school and each day after school we would go into town and cause havoc. It then turnt into an extremely bad habbit and I couldn't walk past Woolworths at the time, by myself with out going in and filling my blazer pockets to the brim with sweets and chocolate. Half the time I wouldn't even eat it!

5. As awful as it sounds... I don't want my Dad to give me away at my wedding. I want my Uncle to, but I don't know how to tell my Dad this.

6. My boyfriend has my name saved on his phone as 'The Cucumber Queen' !! Don't ask why!!

7. I have my very own 'Old Man List' Of all my favourite older men I could happily day dream about all day!

8. Jason Statham is at the top of that Old Man List!!

 9. Can you tell I'm a bit of a sucker for a bad boy?!

10. I cried when I was reading the last few pages of 50 Shades Of Grey!!

I'm not going to specifiacally tag anyone in this. If you want to do it, then do it and leave me the URL for the post so I can check out your 10 secrets! ;)

#97. My first Elf order!

There are so many wonderful things that the world of blogging is showing me, and slowly I am getting to try them out for myself ( and the help of my new job funds! ) So when I was feeling a little down the other day and saw a promotion code from Elf that when you spend £50 you get £25 off, I thought why the hell not! I went through everything on the website and added everything I wanted to my basket and sure enough the basket was up to nearly £80! So I did deduct a few things! Elf's delivery service is brilliant! I ordered the items on a Friday and on Monday I received an email telling me that my parcel had been shipped and would arrive within 1-5 working days. So when I came home on Tuesday I found this delightful package waiting for me!

It's all so exciting! I can't wait to test everything out. Hopefully I'll find a few new favourites too!

#96. MUA Haul - Addicted!

Yet another Haul featuring mainly all MUA products. I think that this is borderline obsession! I just can't help it as I have such easy access to Superdurug and it's so well stocked! Plus Superdrug offer some great bargains which I can never resist!

Yes, definitely official. I have an addiction to MUA products! The Cotton Buds were an amazing bargain too! 300 for 55p! Now I am very particular about my Cotton Buds as I find that some cheap ones are hard and just quite frankly horrible on the ears.. and eyes when removing splodges of mascara thats gone wrong! So I was amazed at how good Superdrugs own brand were so now each time I go in I stock up!

It's all just so pretty!! MUA currently have an offer where you buy one MUA product and you get a lipgloss free, it would be rude not to! I saw the Artiste Collection Palette and knew I had to have it. The nail Constellations are also new to MUA and I grabbed the last Gemini bottle along with my free lipgloss.
So I have come to the conclusion that I am a sucker for anything pretty and a good bargain. But hey, it's brilliant being a girl!

Artiste Collection Palette - £6.00
Nail Constellation - £3.00
Lipgloss - retail at £1.00
Cottonbuds - £0.55p

#95. Simple - Kind to skin replenishing rich moisturiser.

A few months ago I went to Superdrug and brought some more skin care products and did made a haul post which you can read here. For ages I've been meaning to do a review but as you know I took a bit of a blogging break, but I am finally ready to write up all my reviews, and trust me there are a lot!

So as you know I do have a tendency to suffer from dry skin, so having a moisturiser which works well is essential to my skin care routine each day. I stumbled across this Simple moisturiser and decided why not? Lets give it a go!

Simple's Philosophy:
Our philosophy is simple
Simple says - never use harsh chemicals or colours
Simple says - settle for only the purest ingredients
Simple says - trust the natural goodness in all our products, on even the most sensitive skin
Simple says - natural beauty comes from goodness.
I've used this moisturiser everyday over the summer months and it was amazing, it kept my skin fully hydrated and I never felt as though my skin was all cracked and flakey which some moisturisers can do when they obviously don't work. However, as it is getting to the winter months, on really cold days I find I have to team it with a richer moisturiser as the harsh cold air and central heating can be really damaging to our skin and as winter does come I will use a different more richer moisturiser.
What I was most impressed about was the fact that it was so gentle on my skin, it was very soothing and I found that a little goes a long way. This will definitely be something which I purchase again and recommend to other people. In fact most products by Simple I would recommend to others. They are such a good brand and I really do agree with their motto on their products.
Personally, to me I find it very important that brands use natural products as these work best for people who suffer from sensitive skin like myself. Simple products are also fragrance free. Personally that doesn't bother me too much as a bit of fragrance can leave you feeling very feminine. However, too much fragrance and my skin will break out into a billion spots. Not a good look. The fact that Simple also include a few extra vitamins is a bonus. You can never have enough vitamins to help keep you looking healthy. So yes, Simple is a great brand in my eyes and I have loved every bit of this product!

#94. Meet my new baby. - A short story.

Yes, yes this new Ted Baker Make Up Bag is my new baby! Jealous? You should be! It took me an arm and a leg to get hold of this! I saw them a while back and instantly knew that I had to have it. So I went onto the Ted Bake website and they were sold and had been sold out for months! The only one which they did have was the large wash bag at £29 and I didn't fancy putting my make up in that and lugging it about. So when I went to London for the weekend I went in to so many Ted Baker stores and House Of Frasers and not one of them had the make up bag in stock only the flipping wash bags. I then went back onto the Ted Baker website and did a live chat with a very nice customer assistant who told me that the only they could locate is in Manchester Selfridges. MANCHESTER?!?!?! Thats not really helpful when I live down South in Reading near London. She told me that they did postal orders and gave me number which turned out to be the wrong number! The guy in Manchester Selfridges was also so unhelpful that at the end of it I decided I couldn't be bothered and that maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
Then, on a trip to Reading to buy Tyler, my boyfriends birthday presents I cut through House of Fraser and right by my exit was Ted Baker and immediately it caught my eye. Yes!! They had one!! But it wasn't over yet!... I ran over and nearly knocked the old woman out the way who was eyeing it up and grabbed it. Finders keepers is all about the one who gets ahold of it first. I took it to the till to pay to be told by the girl that she wasn't allowed to sell the display one and would check out back for me at this point the old lady was right by my side and I knew that she was after it too. When the girl came back in her hands was the makeup bag all nicely packaged and she told me that it was the last one in stock. VICTORY WAS MINE!!!! At last I had the make up bag I had been lusting over for months and I didn't have a care in the world that it cost me £25 or the fact that the old lady went home with nothing. This beauty was mine and I have been cherishing it ever since. Sometimes a girls got to do what a girls got to do for something she loves!

Thanks for listening folks!
Do you have any short storys about something you've had to have?!

#93. MUA Lipstick - Shade 7.

The other day I did a review on MUA's shade 4 Lipstick from a recent Lipstick purchase. Today is all about MUA's Lipstick in shade 7. MUA is one of my favourite brands which I cannot resist and as these Lipsticks retail at £1 each I cannot resist picking up a new colour to try each time.

I am fully aware that there is an annoying blonde hair stuck to my lips! If only I could Photoshop!

MUA's packaging for their Lipsticks is very original and sleek looking. I love the fact that at the end of the Lipstick is a small what seems to be attachable pot which contains a sample of the Lipstick and shows the colour of it too. However, the only thing I think that MUA could improve on is the naming of the colours. Shade 7 and Shade 4 don't really excite me like the names of the MAC Lipsticks!
Personally I find this to be a great Lipstick. It doesn't just cling on to all the wrong bits which you don't want emphasised. It actually blends well into the lips. I cannot stand Lipstick which do that, especially in the winter months when your lips are all chapped! Shade 7 also has great pigmentation unlike shade 4. I perfer my Lipsticks fairly bright and bold. If I wanted something more neutral I'd wear a lipgloss for that. The colour also lasts very well and throughout the day at work I only reapplied once. This Lipstick ticks all the boxes for me and I'd definitely reccommend shade 7!

Whats your favourite MUA Lipstick shade?
